The Tosto sandwich is similar to a panini but in the words of Yoav the owner, "it's so much more than a Panini!" And he was right! This hot and melty sandwich exploded with flavor in every bite. Everyone at the bakery was amazing and just treated us with love! This is a must go to place for everything from fresh bread to the best chocolate chip cookies we've ever tasted. The Wild Bakers from Germany with students and faculty of the Culinary Arts and Management programs of La Cité Collégiale, preparing for an unusual baking show at Winterlude, one of North America's largest winter festivals. The two German bakers Jörg Schmid and Johannes Hirth may have won the German Baking Championships in 2012 but, as the “Wild Bakers,” they take a much less conventional approach to the baker’s art. Wanting to inspire the young generation to take up baking as a profession, the pair have created films of what they call “extreme baking,” which include stunts like baking in the back of a converted pickup truck driving at high speed on dirt roads or being suspended upside down. But would they rise to the challenge of baking outside in Ottawa’s extreme winter weather? www.ca...

On Feb. 19th 2009, President Barack Obama visited Ottawa and made a quick stop at Le Moulin de Provence to buy a cookie. Ever since, the Moulin De Provence has been creating these same cookies (now appropriately called "Obama Cookies"), with the same recipe as always. These cookies (simple shortbread in the shape of a Maple Leaf, with "Canada" written on them), represent a new era in US-Canada relations. With the exclamation "I love this Country!", Obama warmed the hearts of every Canadian on this cold February afternoon, during this historic visit to Ottawa.

Grocery/bakery shopping at T&T Supermarket an Asian-Canadian supermarket chain which sells primarily Taiwanese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other Asian foods. (http://www.tnt-supermarket.com/en/#) They don't exactly resemble the bread I eat in Taiwan but a lot of these pastries do remind me of home, traditions and celebrations. Not to mention they seem to contain less sugar than the regular western pastries.
